On October 24, 2023 Director Anne Camaro was presented with APCO Atlantic’s Director of the Year Award. Director Camaro Started with NVRDD on December 2021 and has through her leadership and tenacity rebuilt relationships and trust between NVRDD and its partner agencies. Director Camaro has completed several improvement projects within NVRDD improving communications and interoperability amongst the member agencies.
During the same award ceremony, Supervisor Jennifer Hill was presented APCO Atlantic’s Trainer of the Year Award. Supervisor Hill took it upon herself to revamp NVRDD’s Training Program,
reviewing and re-doing most of the training materials and tracking sheets. She was appointed CTO
coordinator in the summer of 2022, which at NVRDD is a working title and does not come with any extra
compensation. She has seen three new hires through their training and is currently planning NVRDD’s
first in-service training. Although she has plenty to do, she still finds time to plan other activities at
NVRDD, and this last November, she hosted a “Comfort Day” for the dispatchers. This day included
having a comfort dog come visit the center and other wellness activities.
