Press Release: NVRDD assumes dispatch services for the Boxborough Police and Boxborough Fire Departments

Nashoba Valley Regional Dispatch District Director Anne Camaro, Boxborough Police Chief John Szewczyk, and Interim Fire Chief Shawn Gray are pleased to announce that NVRDD assumed dispatch services for the Boxborough Police and Boxborough Fire Departments today.

NVRDD has been taking 911 calls for the town of Boxborough since May 1, 2023 due to staffing challenges. In December of 2023 NVRDD and the Town of Boxborough entered into a District Agreement for NVRDD to assume 911 and dispatch services for Boxborough’s public safety departments.

NVRDD is thankful for the ongoing partnership with both the Boxborough Police and Fire departments and looks forward to providing the best possible service to the Boxborough Community and its first responders!

NVRDD serves as the 9-1-1 public safety answering point and dispatch center for Police, Fire and EMS for seven communities as well as the Military Police in Fort Devens. NVRDD was one of the first Regional Emergency Communications Centers in the State of Massachusetts, opening its doors on June 18, 2013. NVRDD serves a total population of just over 35,000 residents and thousands more visitors to the orchards, farms, businesses and attractions within its communities.
